Founders Grants |

Organizations or individuals.
Founders Grants have, in more than forty years, supported diverse projects of national significance including national and international theatre festivals; research in theatre education and theatre practice; publications; U.S.A. representation abroad in theatre festivals and symposiums; scholarships, playwriting and other work of theatre artists and scholars.

Aurand Harris Children's Theatre Grants |
 |
Small to mid-sized, not-for-profit organizations.
Aurand Harris Grants, as Mr. Harris intended, focus primarily on not-for-profit, small and mid sized theatres.
Who may apply:

Small theatres, established for at least three consecutive years, possessing a public record of artistic quality and with operating budgets under $250,000.

Mid-sized theatres, established for at least 10 consecutive years, possessing a public record of artistic quality and an annual operating budget of not less than $250,000 and not more than 1 million.
Harris grants have served a wide variety of needs such as...
- The premiere of an important and promising new play for children/youth, including the costs of: a) Fees and expenses of a noted guest artist, b) Expenses to enable a playwright to participate in rehearsals and attend the performance of his/her play, c) Special production needs.
- Performance expenses of a USA Children’s theatre to send a play to a regional, national, or international festival or convention.
- Support for the establishment of a special production project or program of children’s theatre such as a touring program, a children’s theatre playwriting program, or a production-related symposia.
- Assistance in securing scripts, supplies and equipment of production of plays for young audiences.

Aurand Harris Fellowships |

Individual Theatre Artists.
Aurand Harris Fellowships are designed to assist an individual theatre artist with a specific project or with undertaking and completing a specific plan for the development of his/her own artistic excellence relating to practicing in the field of theatre for children.
No cash match required.

Alvin Cohen Memorial Fund |
 |
Cohen Grants are awarded biennially. Applications are submitted in even numbered years for programs that will occur in the following two years.(For example: grant money awarded in August 08 may be used in 2009 or 2010.)
Alvin Cohen Memorial Fund Grants (USA-National Theatre Associations) are designed to encourage and support exceptional programs at national conferences. The proposed program must feature mentor-artists: directors, playwrights, actors, choreographers, or designers of stage sets, lights or costumes, whose reputations will attract wide attendance and/or participation. Exhibits, demonstrations and/or workshops led by such professionals are also eligible. Maximum distribution of funds per cycle will not exceed $4,000.
Who may apply:

U.S. National Theatre Associations solely concerned with theatre for children and youth ages 4-18.

The applicant association must have been incorporated for a minimum of three years prior to making an application and have a verifiable record of accomplishments.

A 50/50 cash match for the proposed program is required. (General conference expenses and in-kind services cannot be used.)
Priority will be given applicants not funded in the previous grant cycle.

Reba
Robertson Awards |

Robertson Award application deadline: December 15, 2007
Reba R. Robertson Award (Outstanding teachers of public secondary school)
The biennial Reba Robertson Award honors the important work of secondary school theatre/drama and drama teachers in public schools throughout the USA.
Who may apply: Drama teachers of in public secondary schools in the USA. Candidates must follow these general criteria:
- Be at mid-career level and anticipate serving at least ten additional years in the profession
- Have a least one-half teaching load in theatre/drama courses
- Personify mentoring qualities
- Demonstrate artistic excellence
- Verify artistic achievement
- Confirm broad influence on school, community, state, region and beyond, as exhibited by the award’s namesake, Reba R. Robertson
The Reba R. Robertson Award features transportation expenses up to $500 for the recipient to travel to the CTFA Medallion Awards Event; two distinctive trophies (one each for the recipient and ths school district); $5000 to the honoree to be used as the recipient chooses for the purpose of expanding his/her professional interests (i.e. study with a master mentor, travel, research, development of learning tools); $750 to the honoree’s school district to enhance the high school theatre/drama program; Five tickets to the CTFA Medallion Luncheon.
